Hailing from the enchanting town of Bandaragama, Sri Lanka, my journey as an artist and an enterprising spirit has taken me from the serene halls of the Vibhavi Academy, where I nurtured my passion for the art, to the bustling realms of international recognition.
My artistic odyssey embraces various mediums, from the delicate strokes of graphite to the vibrant hues of coloured pencils. Specialising in lifelike pencil portraits, I have recently expanded my horizons to the grandeur of wall art, exploring new dimensions of expression and creativity.
Beyond the canvas, I have ventured into the entrepreneurial landscape—having studied business administration at CTL EURO University in Cyprus—and having founded ‘Gifts from Shamen Walker’ in 2016. This online haven is a testament to my love for art and the joy of heartfelt gifting. It’s a space where each portrait crafted is a masterpiece, each fragrant bloom tells a tale, and every delectable cake is a celebration of life and artistry.

My Achievements
A Brushstroke of Success
Teaming up with group exhibitions like ‘Nawa Kalakaruwo’ and others, I’ve shared my art globally. Through ‘Artistic New Era’ on social media, my work has found homes in 29 countries, reaching millions online.
In a unique venture, I stood on scaffolding to paint the ceiling of Via Torino in Borella, Colombo (Sri Lanka). Inspired by Michael Angelo’s methods, I meticulously recreated the creation of Adam in the Garden of Eden. Balancing on scaffolding, I brought Adam to life with subtle skin colouring and intricate brushwork.
In the world of entrepreneurship, I pioneered online pencil portraits and gift services. Despite challenges, my dedication and the support of a strong social media network catapulted ‘Gifts from Shamen Walker’ to success, even amidst the trials of a pandemic and economic crises.
I’ve successfully delivered drawings to 29 countries from 2016 to February 2024, including Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Canada, Colombia, Cyprus, Dubai, Finland, Ghana, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Lithuania, Maldives, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA.
Another proud moment in my entrepreneurial voyage was being featured in the prestigious CPM Journal, where my accomplishments as a young entrepreneur were recognised.

Hiru TV Life drawing segment
I had the opportunity to work with Hiru TV, Sri Lanka’s leading media channel, on their morning show “Mama Nowana Mama.” My role was to sketch celebrities while they conversed with the host. Despite the challenge of drawing moving faces in a short time with limited drawing equipment, I gained valuable experience during my year with them. 2014-2015
